International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) Beverly Hills, CA – November 29, 2007 – In honor of World AIDS Day, December 1st, Cinema Libre Studio and Participant Productions’ critically-acclaimed documentary, ANGELS IN THE DUST, will be screened at approximately 54 universities and high schools across the U.S. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival, the film is the inspiring story of Marion Cloete who—with her husband and two daughters—fearlessly walked away from a privileged life in a wealthy Johannesburg suburb to establish Boikarabelo, an extraordinary village, and school, that provides shelter, food, and education to more than 550 South African children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. A portion of the World AIDS Day screenings will be hosted by Participant Productions in association with AIDS Healthcare Foundation, working with both educational and church groups, while others are being sponsored by World Vision’s Act on AIDS. In addition, ANGELS IN THE DUST was screened at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) as part of its Reflecting Images: Best of Fest program on November 26th and November 29th and will be shown again on World AIDS Day, December 1st (18:15h at Munt 11). Angels filmmaker Louise Hogarth, along with the film’s Marion and Con Cloete, will be in attendance. Ms. Cloete participated in a special panel debate on activism following the screening on November 29th. WomensRadio Network will feature an interview with Louise Hogarth, who has dedicated her career to projects that address social and human rights issues, most recently HIV/AIDS.
